Red Dress in Paris

Welllllll, I got back from Paris 3 months ago, but with all the places we went, I wanted to be sure to give due credit to all of them and to really take my time in getting the posts right! So, sorry if you thought I was kidding when I said I'd be posting photos for months to come; I definitely wasn't!

I knew when we added Paris to our list, I wanted to take a red dress. I know, so cliche, but I could just see a photo in a red dress in front of the Eiffel tower. It felt like the epitome of Paris. I tried on a few here and there and nothing fit quite right until I found this one!

Midi dresses somehow feel so much fancier and more elegant without you having to worry about it getting caught in your shoes or dragging on the ground like a maxi dress.

I'm also loving seeing sneakers with dresses more and more and I knew I wanted a pair of white Keds-like shoes for the trip to wear with dresses. Then I tried on a pair of Keds and knew there was no way on earth they would get me comfortably through walking 10+ miles a day in Paris. I tried on a few, but loved these Vans Wards, which are very comfortable and perfect if you have a slightly wider foot.

Last but not least, I had to top off my look with a beret because duh.

I will note that it so so dreary and rainy all day, which at first we thought was a bummer, until we went to the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triumph and people started running away when the rain came out. We just got out our umbrellas and kept going and got great spots for photo-taking! For almost all of these photos, I threw down my umbrella long enough to snap a photo and scooped it back up.

While I already can't wait to go back to Paris (full post on the city coming soon!) and see it with some blue skies, a rainy day sure means you don't have to elbow the crowds to see everything outdoors!

Do you ever have a specific outfit you have in your mind before going on a trip? Let me know in the comments!
