Yes, Overalls Can be Classy!

I've said it before, and I'll likely say it until my dying day: overalls are not just meant for Oshkosh B'gosh-clad toddlers and farmers! Not only can a grown woman wear overalls with no shame, but you can even make them *gasp* classy!  I especially love black overalls, just to amp up the dressy factor just slightly more. They're also perfect paired with a tee for running weekend errands, but I swear, you really can dress them up and look very chic and cool!

Speaking of very chic and cool, I'm also lucky to have some stunning backgrounds here from my recent trip to Tampa (be on the lookout for my guide of what to do with 48 hours in Tampa next week!). From murals to art museums, you can just see how my classy overalls look all over the city! Be sure to follow me on Instagram to get sneak peeks of my trip!

A brief recent history of me and overalls: they sustained me for basically the first 4 months of my pregnancy when my other favorite pants and their evil buttons and zippers all abandoned me. I nearly cried the day I put on my trusty black overalls and they were too tight around the waist. I mournfully told my husband, and the first thing he said was, "ok well, you need some maternity overalls then". He was telling me to shop and shop I did! I found this pair I just love, and even tried them on with a gigantic fake bump pillow to make sure they would grow with me over the coming months. I think they'll also be perfect for postpartum too!

Ok, so how to up the classy factor, exactly? First, pair them with a nice blouse. I love them with a pussybow blouse like this one. Next, class up your footwear. These white fringe slides are my new favorite shoes from Target. I feel half rich retiree/half edgy and cool and I love it. Basically, any nice loafers will say, "I'm too wealthy to take the time to put on real shoes, so these will have to do." Classy, my friends. Last, be sure to accessorize. Add some earrings and a bold lip, and you will look so dressed up, no one even notices you're wearing denim!

Bonus points: add a v classy trench coat, preferably in houndstooth

If you really want to drive the point home, snap a pic of yourself surrounded by rich mahogany.

See how classy overalls can be? Just don't tell anyone you're as comfortable as if you were wearing onsie PJs, that'll just be our little secret! ;)
